To undertake a usability review, develop a new visual identity for the site that was appealing and easy to use.
Overview of Venue Connect
Venue Connect is a comprehensive national directory of venues and event related product & services. Venue Connect provides event managers with a step by step process to manage their event enquiries by submitting just one enquiry form directly to a shortlist of event providers.
Project
enflexion undertook a short usability review of the current system identifying issues that when resolved would increase the ease of use of the site. Each recommendation enflexion made was accompanied by an analysis based on impact versus effort and cost. This allowed Venue Connect to focus the important high impact changes immediately and allow the smaller less urgent changes to be made progressively after the site was launched. enflexion then re-designed the look of the site with the following outcomes:
- High Visual appeal for end users;
- Fast loading on all Internet connection speeds;
- Easy to use;
- Information could be searched visually using images and textually (increase in accessibility for people living with disabilities).
Outcome
The website was launched in mid October 2004 and it’s popularity and use has been growing steadily even since.
