without your efforts and influence that you had in the look and feel as well as the navigation of the site I would not have been at all as happy as I am now. You brought a very professional visual element to the site and it was desperately in need of that.” Steve Coombes Venue Connect

Step Eight - Sharing Content

Sharing Content is a lot easier that getting reciprocal links as detailed in Step Eight, because you are actually giving something of value away.  However, for the content to be of value, it must be original and your own work.

I have over the years actually found other websites stealing articles from my websites.  If the website is a good quality website I send a polite email advising them of the copyright infringement and either a request that they remove the offending material, or they provide a link back to my site with proper credit for the article.

Sometimes of course I do not want other sites re-publishing specific articles, but often a good quality website sharing content is a good way to increase traffic.

Start by indentifying potential sites

To share content you need to identify sites that are relevant again by searching for your keywords and making a list of sites to share content with.

Content may not always be in the form of articles, but can also be, images, directories even videos.

Contact each of the sites with your shared content

Then contact each one of the websites with a copy of the content you wish to share along with what you expect in return, IE a link back to your website form the article, or a mini advertisement on the page etc.

Don’t get discouraged if sometimes you never hear back from a particular website, keep on pushing your content to others!
