Congratulations on your fantastic website. A lot of hard work must have gone into setting it up, but what a wonderfully satisfying achievement for you. The main page looks great. The colour is just beautiful in that sunset, and gives you a feeling of peace when you look at it, which was obviously your objective.

Step Six - Register with the Search Engines

Google is probably the most important of all search engines to be listed in, as they are the dominant search engine and share their listings with a lot of search engines. If you are already listed in the Open Directory you will be automatically listed in Google.

If another website that is listed by Google has a link to your website then by default you should already be listed in Google.

Check whether you are already listed in Google!

The first thing to do is check to see whether you are already listed in Google.  Try searching for your website address and website name in Google.  If you are already listed then you do not need to add your URL.

If you are not already listed then you need add your URL, use the links below to open the page for each of the following search engines.

Adding Your Site to Other Search Engines and Free Search Engine Submision Tools

Over the years I have tried many of the free submission tools to list sites in all sorts of search engines, generally I have found that most of these tools do not work. I end up with huge amounts of spam and in some cases I even had my listings deleted from a search engine for "Spamming" them.

My advice is not to use any of the free search engine submission tools.  If you add your site to Google and the Open Directory you will find that a lot fo other search engines will pick up your site from the larger search engines.
