Challenge
A Gift of Inspiration needed to find a way to easily and effectively turn what was a personal hobby into a vibrant commercial website whilst not losing the personal touch of the founder, Keith Ready.
The client required a way to easily manage the website without having to learn “web code” but still keep the site consistent and easy to navigate.
Solution
enflexion was engaged by A Gift of Inspiration as a trusted technology partner, to design the new website and provide expert advice on how to best take InspirEmail from the conceptual stage to a vibrant website, whilst still keeping the integrity and personality of the newsletter.
enflexion analysed the initial business concept and guided the organization in refining and developing the overall business plan and eCommerce strategy.
The design of the site was completed iteratively, where drafts are designed then feedback and analysis of user’s response is measured and the design is refined further. The final design chosen is easy to use, appealing to the diverse user base and maintains the very personal touch.
In addition to the extensive content on the site, a shopping cart allows user’s to purchase the CD A Gift of Inspiration, or automatically download the PDF of the CD after payment has been completed through the online payment gateway Paypal (http://www.paypal.com.au).
The functionality and management of the website is fully provided by the Sliced Bread Content Management Solution. This includes the Shopping Cart Module and the Permissions Based eMail List Manager.
The eMail List Manager ensures adherence to the Australian Spam Act 2003 ensuring a subscriber confirms their subscription before they are activated and allowing them one click un-subscribing.
Outcome
The website was launched in February 2005 and the first of the newly designed InspirEmails was sent out to the existing subscribers.
Subscribers have consistently sent positive feedback about the site and subscriptions to the newsletter have been increasing.
